Alfrieda Ogle

Alfrieda Ogle, 86, of Anderson, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 20, 2026. She was born on July 12, 1940 to the late Virgil and Laura (Barrett) Howard.

Alfrieda began her life in Somerset, KY and pursued her education there through the 8th grade. At a young age, she dedicated herself to helping care for her own family and went to work.

Those who knew Alfrieda recognize that she was the very glue that held her family together, describing her as protective, gentle, caring, giving, and compassionate. Throughout her years, Alfrieda embraced her role as a homemaker. Taking care of babies and her family was not just a duty, but her passion. She cared for her family selflessly, nurturing children and, at times, grandchildren, ensuring that each felt the warmth and stability of her presence. Her loving arms were always open to the little ones; there was no greater comfort to a child than Alfrieda's gentle touch.

Alfrieda loved cooking homemade meals for her family and in quiet moments, she enjoyed the challenge and relaxation of crossword puzzles.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Brenda (Mark) Cuthbertson and Cheryl (Tim) Short; son-in-law Victor Joyner Jr; Grandchildren: Jeremy Thacker, Josh (Jamie) Thacker, Garrett (Lexi) Ogle-Short, Justin Short, Jessica Short, David (Christina) Ryan, Amy (Phil) Boner, Amber (Brad) Rowles, Will (Hyllary) Thomas, and Victor Joyner III; Great grandchildren: Madysen Thacker, Jenna Thacker, Rylee Trueblood, Paityn Thacker, Christian Ogle-Short, Charlotte Ogle-Short, Jacob House, Sadie Ryan, Heaven Ryan, Devin Ryan, Hunter Ryan, Jordan Ryan, Savannah Holford, Emma Boner, Alexa Boner, Kelsey Villano, Triston Bybee, Brayden Rowles, Logan McNeil, Leighton Gilbert, and Lyllian Gilbert; 8 Great great grandchildren: Skylan, Avery, Jameson, Chloe, Ainslee, Addeline, Aniylah and Brintlee.

In addition to her parents, Alfrieda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Ogle, and her daughter, Kimberly Joyner.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 8, 2026, at 1:00pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Daleville, with Pastor Jeff Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until the time of the service on Saturday. Inurnment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery in Westfield at 3:00pm.
