Benito "Benny" H. Molina

Mar 21, 1954 — Jul 24, 2026

Daleville

Benito “Benny” H. Molina, beloved husband, friend, and pillar of his community, passed away on July 24, 2026, at the age of 72. He was born on March 21, 1954, in Weslaco, TX, to the late Andres and Maria (Herrera) Molina.

After moving to Daleville from Texas with his family, Benny graduated from Daleville High School in 1974. Benny spent many years working as a journeyman electrician for the IBEW Local 855 in Muncie. His reputation among his colleagues was second to none—hardworking, dedicated, skilled, and always willing to lend a hand.

Benny’s commitment to service extended beyond his profession. For over 20 years, he volunteered as a firefighter and EMT for the Daleville-Salem Township Fire Department. Through countless calls—some dangerous, some difficult—he was a steady, reassuring presence, bringing comfort to families in their moments of need. His selflessness was not limited to his official duties; many recall how he would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need.

Benny was known for his quiet strength and beautiful smile—a man whose outward reserve often concealed a mischievous, onery sense of humor. He was a faithful Catholic and more than anything, he was a family man. Taking care of his loved ones was always his number one priority.

Benny found joy and peace outdoors. He was most at home with a fishing rod in hand, content even if the fish weren’t biting, simply appreciating the tranquility of nature. Camping trips, afternoons spent mowing the yard, and weekends behind the wheel of his little red stick shift truck colored his days with happiness. He also enjoyed going to the IBEW Company cookouts and playing on their softball team.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 49 years, Teresa Molina; daughters, Katrina (Brian) Ellsworth, Kristin (Matt) VanAlst, and Krystal (Kyle) Heath; grandchildren, Tyler Vance, Mackenzie Vance, Kaden Heath, Karson Heath, and Colton VanAlst; great grandchildren, Madison Vance and Kamryn Vance; special nephew, Duane Alfrey; special great nephew, Chase McCorkle; special friend, Ron Dunmoyer; siblings, Elva (Frank) Barkdull, Sylvia DeLaRosa, and Elijio (Rosa) Molina; several nieces and nephews; and a community of friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by his brothers, Reuben Molina and Gabriel Molina; nephew, Danny Molina; mother and stepfather-in-law, Estella and Charles Chadwick; and father-in-law, Bill Harman.
