Bonita Jo "Bonnie" Ritchie

Bonita Jo “Bonnie” Ritchie (Hofer), 71, of Middletown, Indiana, passed away peacefully on the evening of November 1, 2026, in Westfield, Indiana, following an extended and courageous battle with cancer.

Bonnie was born on June 21, 1955, to the late Kenneth and Janice Hofer. Growing up in East Central Indiana, she developed a lifelong passion for horses and a deep appreciation for the creative arts. Whether sketching, painting, or simply admiring beauty in everyday moments, she brought a gentle, expressive spirit to everything she touched.

Above all else, Bonnie’s heart belonged to her family. Her greatest joy and proudest achievement was being a mother and grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren—sharing laughter, stories, and unconditional support. Her warmth, steady kindness, and bright smile will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses: Jason and Jessica Ritchie, Erin and David Ferguson, and Clint and Ashley Ritchie; her beloved grandchildren: Kendall, Everly, and Leana; her stepbrother: Randy Hofer; as well as extended family members and close friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alan Ritchie; her father, Kenneth Hofer; her mother, Janice Hofer; and her stepmother, Juanita Hofer.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 7, 2026, form 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. Funeral arrangenments have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown.
