Carl James Anthes, 81, of Daleville passed away Sunday January 9, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born November 17, 1940 in Detroit Michigan to the late Howard Anthes and Emma (Scafe) Ocha.
Carl served his country in the United States Army. He was a landscaper most of his life and loved working in his yard and with his flowers. Carl enjoyed watching Great Lakes Freighters and made several models of them. He spent time refinishing furniture and with his dog Zoe. Carl was known to always have dog treats with him and handed them out to any dog he saw. He was a member of Trinity Community Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jean (Kiefer) Anthes whom he married April 2, 1988; sisters, Marion Linn of Farmington Hill, MI and Nancy Bowlick of Boynton Beach, FL; sister-in-law Donna Pugsley; brother-in-law, Mike (Trula) Kiefer; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Carl in preceded in death by a sister, Betty Whiting and brother, Bob Anthes.
Services will be Saturday January 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home Daleville Chapel with Pastor Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Mt Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the animal shelter of your choosing or to the Trinity Community Church 13801 W. Main St. Daleville, IN 47334
