Carolyn Jean Howard, 90, of Middletown passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. She was born September 16, 1932 in Madison County to the late Joseph Daniel and Hazel (Hodson) Scothorn.
Carolyn was a 1950 graduate from Middletown High School. She spent many years working at Delco Remy and was blessed to enjoy a long and happy retirement. She very much enjoyed traveling with her husband and visiting friends all around the United States. Carolyn enjoyed square dancing and making annual visits to the Grand Ole Opry. She was greatly loved by all her nieces and nephews.
Carolyn is survived by 2 nieces, Diana Stephens of Anderson and Joyce Rollins of Fairmount; 2 great nephews, Randy (Sherri) Stephens and Danny (Susan) Stephens; 3 great nieces, Connie (Frank) Ferret, Carol (Brian) Mulcahy, and Robyn (Todd) Boetzel, and several great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband, Earl Howard and sister, Helen Belcher.
Services will be at 2:00 pm Monday, August 21, 2023 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastor Phil Rogers officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial to follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
