Connie Orr

Oct 7, 1946 — Oct 24, 2026

Connie Orr, 80, born October 7, 1946, in Middletown, Indiana, passed away peacefully October 24, 2026, leaving behind a family who will miss her dearly—and a whole lot of memories that will keep them laughing for years to come.

Connie married her high school sweetheart, Fred W. Orr Jr., on July 4, 1964. They shared a life filled with love, family, and plenty of stories until Fred’s passing on June 23, 2008. Connie carried his memory with her always, including her love of red trucks, which began with the red Chevy Fred lovingly rebuilt.

Connie didn’t ask for much out of life. She simply wanted to be a mom and a grandma, and she considered that job her greatest accomplishment. She loved cooking and baking for her family and was happiest when she could feed everyone—whether they were hungry or not. In Connie’s world, there was always room for one more plate.

When she wasn’t busy taking care of her family, Connie could usually be found “yarning,” as Levi called it—crocheting her way through just about any spare moment. There was rarely a time when her hands weren’t busy and a project wasn’t within reach.

And then there were the games.

Uno, Euchre, Aggravation, and Yahtzee were not casual family activities to her. They were serious business. If you sat down to play, you had better come prepared, because Connie was there to win. She was competitive, ruthless, and probably already planning her victory while everyone else was still deciding what game to play. “Don’t tempt her with aggravation” became a family lesson for good reason.

Connie’s greatest joy, however, was her family. She is survived by her three children, William Orr, Sheila Orr, and Tami Yarberry; her four grandchildren, Samantha Orr, Kaci Proctor, Marli Prichard, and Conli Prichard; and her three great-grandchildren, Levi Morrow, Luca Masters, and River Masters.

She also leaves behind special nieces, Ruthe, Heather, and Blanch, and nephew, Toby, who held a special place in her heart. Plus, several close game friends.

Her family will remember her for her big heart, her love of cooking and baking, her crocheting projects, her red trucks, her competitive spirit, and most of all, the unconditional love she gave so freely.

Connie’s greatest legacy is the family she loved so fiercely. She was a mom, a grandma, a great-grandma, an aunt, and the person who made sure everyone was fed, cared for, and occasionally reminded them that losing at Yahtzee was not her problem.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered with laughter, tears, full bellies, unfinished crochet projects, and probably a few family arguments over who actually won the last game (Levi).

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Kandi Kemerly and Ashleigh Burton for their loving help and care during Connie’s end-of-life journey. Their kindness, compassion, and support meant so much to Connie and her family.

Rest easy, Connie. Save us a seat—and maybe keep the dice warm.
