Cynthia “Cindy” Lynn Hodson, 65, of Middletown passed away on March 23, 2026. She was born in Muncie, IN, on February 26, 1961, the daughter of Robert and Ruth Ann (Rahe) Odle.
A 1979 graduate of Shenandoah High School, Cindy devoted her working years as a coordinator/seamstress at Liebhart Mills pillow factory in Middletown. Those who were lucky enough to know Cindy remember her as funny, ornery, and quick-witted—a vibrant spirit with a generous heart who loved children deeply. Her passions extended beyond work to a love for crafting, diamond art, coloring, and sharing joyful moments at the family’s lake house on Little Barbee Lake. She found happiness in campfires, races, and the simple pleasures of life. Cindy’s affection for animals was profound. Her beloved dogs, Izzy and Nelly, and her mischievous “devil” cat, Lucy, held a special place in her heart.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jason Hodson; parents, Robert and Ruth Ann Odle; sisters, Vicky Craig and Cheryl (Rock) Farmer; special family friend, Sandy Hampton; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Cindy was preceded in death by her husband, Rick Hodson; siblings, Tamiko Wright and Jeff Davis; nephew, Travis Farmer; and great nephew, Beckett Hathaway.
A Celebration of Life will be held by the family on April 18, 2026, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene. A short service will follow at 4:00pm with Pastor Ryan Farmer officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cindy Hodson Memorial Fund to help cover funeral expenses, here. You may express condolences or share a memory of Cindy at www.ballardandsons.com.
