Duane Arthur Mingle

Duane Arthur Mingle, 89, of Middletown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 23, 2026. He was born on May 3, 1936, in Yorktown, IN, one of eight children born to the late Arthur and Iris (Mowrey) Mingle.

Duane was an active member of Crossroads Lutheran Church for several years. He was in the United States Air Force Reserves and was called to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Duane graduated from the General Motors School of Engineering and was a Design Engineer for Guide Lamp Corp. for 37 years before retiring in 1992. He then worked part time for Ag-Express Electronics for 18 years.

Duane farmed his entire life and was never one to sit idle. He was constantly doing something, whether it was for himself or others. Duane loved his family and was proud of each and every one of them and would put his family first, above all else.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of over 65 years, Barbara Mingle; siblings, Joe (Carol) Mingle, Bob (Kay) Mingle, and Marjorie Walker; sons, Tom (Lynell) Mingle and Roger (Kate) Mingle; daughter in law, Li Mingle; grandchildren, Lindsey (Doug) Ellison, Stephanie (Matt) Razor, Chase Mingle (fiancée Emma Gellenbeck), Garrett Mingle, and Clara Mingle; great grandchildren, Audra Ellison, Lee Ellison, Ci-Ci Razor, and Miles Razor; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by his siblings, Norman Mingle, June Smith, Joyce Grimm, and Linda Mingle (died at birth); and his son, Gary Mingle.

Services will be at 1:00pm on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastor Phil Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Middletown. Visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of the service on Friday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown.
