Ellen Rose Nixon

Ellen Rose Nixon, 93, of Daleville passed away on Friday September 8, 2023 at Brickyard Healthcare in Muncie. She was born on January 12, 1930, in Springport to the late Charles and Edna (Gillock) Jones.
She was a 1948 graduate of Mt. Summit High School. On September 4, 1949 Ellen Jones married the love of her life Ronald Nixon. Ellen was the first Clerk Treasurer for the Town of Daleville and Trustee for two terms. She was a member of the fire department where she helped dispatch calls. Ellen enjoyed watching NASCAR and Dale Ernhardt and going boating at Prairie Creek with her husband.
Ellen is survived by her children, Roni Waitman of Daleville, Tracey (Dick) Mulford of Chandler, OK and Chris (Lisa) Nixon of Daleville; grandchildren, Nathaniel Woolum, Julie Hibbs, Emily (Nicklus) Sweet, Jordan (Jamie Brison) Mulford, Christopher (Ashley) Nixon, Mackenzie (Patrick) Frazier, Danielle (Dustin) Pittsford, Derreck (Alessia) Nixon and Kayleigh (Colton) Lyon; eighteen great grandchildren; son-in-law, Mike Waitman along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Ronald; siblings, Charles Jones, James Jones, Mary Ball, Evelyn Sears and Helen Harter.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Golden Living / Brickyard Healthcare for the years of care and love they gave to Ellen.
Services will be at 6:00 PM on Tuesday September 12, 2023 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Daleville. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until the time of service.
