Yorktown...George Lewis Harlan, 83, longtime resident of Yorktown, passed away at his residence.He was born in Anderson, Indiana , June 21, 1931.He retired in 1991 from General Motors Delco Remy in Anderson after 40 years of service.He built over 50 homes in the Daleville/Yorktown area.He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son: Wayne Michael, 1/2 brother: Richard Morgan, and 1 sister: Betty Day.Survivors are his wife: Helen of Yorktown, 3 sons: Michael Wayne (Kathy Sue) Harlan of Anderson, Dan (Darcy) Orbik of Middletown, and Mike (Belinda)Orbik of Summitville, 1 daughter: Linda (Greg) Graham of Muncie, 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.Graveside celebration services will be held on Friday at 4:00 at Saunders Cemetery, east of Daleville.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com and Facebook/Ballard & Sons: Life Celebrations, Counseling, Funerals and Cremation.The Ballard family is honored to celebrate the life of George Harlan with family and friends.
