Jacilyn "Jackie" Louise Burch

Jacilyn “Jackie” Louise Burch, 85, of New Castle, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at The Waters of New Castle. She was born on March 21, 1941, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of Robert Wilson and Mary Louise (Keesling) Sparks.

Jackie loved her family deeply, and they never went a day without knowing they were loved and wanted. Her love extended beyond her own family, as she served as a foster parent for several years, opening her heart and home to many children throughout the years. She continued to help children through the Blue River Optimist Club of which Jackie was a former member.

Jackie enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble, and playing Sorry! She especially enjoyed teaching her family how to play games, although she was never one to let them win! She also had a fondness for lighthouses and enjoyed their beauty.

Most importantly, there was never any doubt that Jackie loved Jesus. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she had most recently attended New Testament Church of Christ in Hagerstown.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Mary Lines of New Castle; grandchildren, Emily (John) Saiz of Mt. Summit and Heidi (significant other: LaRon Bryant) Swafford of New Castle; great grandchildren, Sophia and Zachary Saiz, Ian and Eli Swafford; son-in-law, Max Lines of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her brother, Dickie Gene Sparks; sisters, Sharon Schultz and Karen Bennett; nephews, Rusty Schultz and John Paul.

In keeping with Jackie’s final wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
