Janet Jo Crabill

Janet Jo Crabill, 87, of Middletown, passed away on August 25, 2026 at The Waters of Middletown. She was born on January 6, 1939, in Middletown, to the late Virgil and Mary (Barrett) Haynes.

Janet’s life started in Middletown and she lived there her entire life. She was a Jehovah’s Witness and was known as a caring, hard-working, and generous woman whose life was centered on home, family, and caring for others.

Janet was a homemaker who devoted herself to her family. She cared for her loved ones faithfully and gave of herself in countless everyday ways. Many will remember her as the best cook, especially when it came to baking pies. She made sure there were three meals on the table every day and consistently placed the needs of others before her own.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 20 years, Bill Crabill; children, Shari Vaught, Rick (Tammy) Harter, Vicki Bergquist, and Jerri (Shelly) Harter; grandchildren, Abraham Vaught, Ashleigh (Bryan) Vaught-Key, Angie Harter, Adam (Andrea) Harter, Leiah Goudy, Kendra (Justin) Harter, and Kristopher Harter; 4 great grandchildren; and brother, Ralph Haynes.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters and her grandson, Alex Harter.

There will be a Celebration of Life on September 3, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Belgian Horse Winery, located at 7200 W. CR 625 N., Middletown, IN 47356.
