Larry Lee Clendenen

Larry Lee Clendenen, 89, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at Bethany Pointe in Anderson. He was born on December 31, 1936 in Anderson, to the late Edward and Barbara (Evans) Clendenen.

A dedicated member of the United States Army, Larry served his country with honor and integrity. After his military service, he transitioned into a fulfilling career at Delco Remy, where his work ethic and warm heart made a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.

Larry was a Cossack and attended Middletown High School. He had a unique way of connecting with his roots. He enjoyed driving around Middletown, reminiscing about old homes and the memories held within their walls. Known affectionately as a sweetheart and a teddy bear, he never hesitated to tell people he loved them, leaving a trail of warmth and light in his wake.

In his younger years, Larry found great pleasure in playing golf and delighted in the thrill of being a member of the Confederate Air Force, partaking in exciting air shows and jumping out of planes. These adventures filled his life with stories and laughter.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Leanne Clendenen and David (Cindy) Clendenen; grandchildren, Shawna (Michael) Arno and Taylor (Alicia) Clendenen; and great grandchildren, Nora Arno and Olivia Clendenen.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his siblings, Elaine Perry and Marlene Clendenen; and his loving wife of over 61 years, LaVaughn “Bonnie” Clendenen.

Cremation will take place with Ballard and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be at Bronnenberg Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral home in Middletown. You may express condolences or share a memory of Larry at www.ballardandsons.com.
