Larry Wayne Peavler

June 13, 1945 — May 25, 2020

New Castle...Larry Wayne Peavler, 74, resident of Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center and longtime Middletown resident, passed away Monday, May 25, in New Castle, surrounded by his children.  He was born in Henry County, June 13, 1945, the son of Myron and Mary Swoveland Peavler.  He was a 1963 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and retired from General Motors in 1995 after 30 years of service.

Larry had also driven a parts delivery truck for NAPA Auto Parts Store for 15 years.

He married Janie Faulkner on May 29, 1965.  She passed in December of 2013. He loved motorcycles especially Harley Davidson and collected John Deere Tractors. He worked on many cars as a mechanic for his community and loved lending a helping hand to others.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his children, Lisa (Tony) Kimmerling of Middletown, Pamela (Greg) Poston of New Castle, and Larry Dale Peavler of Middletown; 4 brothers, Gene (Ola Mae) Peavler, Augusta, GA, Jimmie Joe (Linda) Peavler of Anderson, Ernie (Tara) Peavler of New Castle, and Keith (Angie) Peavler of Troy, MO; 5 sisters, Joyce Parmley of New Castle, Beverly (Harry) Sutton of Indianapolis, Helen (Terry) Parks of New Castle, Marilyn Helsley of Heltonville, IN, and Jerry (Mike) Rice of Middletown; grandchildren, Bryant (Ashley) Kimmerling, Anderson, Nathan Kimmerling, Anderson, Kyra (Chris) Polanco, New Castle, Cody (Hannah) Poston, New Castle, and Lilly Poston, New Castle; great grandchildren, Eli and Zoe Kimmerling, Emma, Hunter, and James Poston and Kylie Polanco, and a great-grandson Myles Kimmerling on the way; as well as special friends Steve and Linda Fowler of Middletown; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center for their amazing love and care of "Papa Bear."

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th Street, Middletown.  Friends may call from 11-2 on Saturday at the funeral home with restriction of 100 people allowed within the facility with social distancing suggested by the CDC.  A mask is recommended for the safety of others.
