Lenore Ritchie

Lenore Ritchie, 82, of Middletown passed away on Saturday June 21, 2025, at Community Hospital in Anderson. She was born on September 30, 1942, in Anderson to the late Willam and Gladys (Young) Dahl.

For over 30 years Lenore worked for Delco Remy in Anderson before her retirement. She loved to go rummaging and to flea markets. She also enjoyed going out mushroom hunting in her woods at the farm. Anyone that knew Lenore knew she had a fierce love for cats, and they were all she talked about. She was proud to be the cat lady. Lenore had many favorite cats over the years but her two favorite ones she had most recently were Baby Love and Fluffers.

Lenore is survived by her children, Melissa Ritchie, Marcy Ritchie and Rudy Schmaltz; 7 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; sister, JeNeane “Pinky” Dahl; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be on Friday June 27, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service.
