Lillian P. Mcsherley

Lillian P. McSherley, 95, of Middletown passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Henry Community Health in New Castle. She was born on July 26, 1927 in Remer, MN a daughter of Emma (Holt) Berres.

Known to always exude a pleasant attitude and demeanor, Lillian was the epitome of a good Christian lady and lived her Christian life by example; she was a long-time member of the White Union Church. Lillian loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother; she loved family gatherings and always welcomed everyone into her home and always insisted that every kid have a doggie bag and a dollar for their pocket prior to leaving her home.

Lillian was retired from Brooks Foods in Mt. Summit following 20 years of service. She was a graduate of Remer High School in Remer, MN. Lillian enjoyed passing the time by watching outside at the birds, cats and many other pets all while listening to her favorite game shows.

Lillian is survived by her children; Lonny McSherley of Conover, NC and Karen Turpen of Middletown; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Eugene McSherley; sons, Dennis and Ronny McSherley; brothers, Leonard and Marion Polosky; sister, Gladys Robinson.

Services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastor Gordon Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until the time of service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Sulphur Springs Fire Department or the Middletown Fire Department with envelopes available at the funeral home.
