Nancy Colleen Barkdull

Nancy Colleen Barkdull, 89, of Daleville passed away on Wednesday July 26, 2023, peacefully at her home. She was born on May 26, 1934, in Hartford City to the late Ora and Marcella (Smoot) Robbins.
She was a 1952 graduate of Daleville High School. On January 1, 1953, she married the love of her life Ralph Eugene Barkdull. Nancy loved cooking and baking pies, she spent time baby sitting and working in the kitchen at the Daleville Gun Club. She enjoyed going camping and spending time at the lake with her family. Nancy was an avid reader and enjoyed watching sports mainly the Reds, Pacers, Colts and IU basketball.
Nancy is survived by her children, Robin (Ross Turley) Brown of Chesterfield, Kim (Darwin) Freeman of Dewart Lake, Nanette (Bob) Phillips of Lake Wawasee and Ralph Eugene Barkdull Jr. of Dewart Lake; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Eugene “Gene” Barkdull; siblings, Ed (Beverly) Robbins, Peggy (Charlie) Huber and Doug (Reta) Robbins.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Compassus Hospice for the care and compassion Nancy received.
Services will be on Tuesday August 1, 2023, at 3:00 pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home 8212 South Walnut St. Daleville, IN 47334. Burial will follow at Saunders Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
