Pamela "Pam" Gail Painter

Pamela “Pam” Gail (Sewell) Painter, 70, of Muncie passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Envive of Muncie. Pam was born on February 13, 1955, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of the late Melvin and Madeline (Brown) Sewell.

She was a graduate of Wapahani High School and continued her education at Ivy Tech Community College, where she trained to become a phlebotomist. Pam took great pride in her profession and was deeply devoted to caring for others, always going above and beyond to support providers and patients alike.

Pam’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with them and created countless memories filled with laughter and love. She also held a special place in her heart for Morehead, KY, her mother’s hometown, where many family trips were taken and lifelong memories were made.

She had a vibrant spirit and loved music, often cruising in her Ford Escort with her tape player turned up, singing along to her favorite bands, Journey and Eagles. Pam also enjoyed drawing, playing cards, and simply spending time with those she loved.

The Lord was also very important to Pam, she and David would say always say their nightly prayers and read a daily devotional.

Her favorite saying, “It’s never goodbye, it’s always later,” perfectly reflected her hopeful and loving nature.

Pam’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Envive of Muncie and ViaQuest Hospice for all the loving care given to Pam during her time of need.

Pam is survived by her loving husband and sweetheart, David Painter; children, Matthew (wife, Chasity (Wright)) Jones, and Mendy Jones; grandchildren, Aiden and Seth Montgomery, Raygen, Brayden and Griffin Wright; sister, Sandy Shady; several nieces and nephews, Chris Shady, Karen Standish, Greg Terry, and Amy Mahoney just to name a few.

In addition to her parents, Pam was preceded in death by her siblings, Connie Terry and Bobby Sewell.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm Friday, February 6, 2026 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until the time of service on Friday.
