Paul T. Rector, 80, of Daleville passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at his residence. He was born on June 12, 1945, in Muncie, Indiana, a son of the late Dwight Rector and Mary (Seward Mitchell.
Paul was a 1963 graduate of Daleville High School and later graduated from Butler University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He spent his working years serving others as a pharmacist.
Paul was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman who greatly enjoyed spending time in nature. He was also active in the Boy Scouts of America, where he achieved the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout. A longtime member of the Baptist faith, he most recently was a member of the Lake Street Baptist Church.
Here are some words Paul wanted to share with others:
Assuming you have all taken the proper steps to see to your salvation, I will see and greet each and everyone of you on the glorious day when the clouds’ part and our Lord and Master appears in the Eastern Sky and the trumpet sounds.
Until then- laugh every day, keep our Savior close in your heart and try to live under His conviction.
Paul is survived by his sons, Donald (Tonda) Rector and Paul (Diane) Rector Jr.; stepchildren, Lance and Brian Gambrel, and Jennifer Cain; grandchildren, Nathen and Wyatt Rector; sister, Karen (Steven) Taylor; along with several special nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, June 19, 2026 at the Lake Street Baptist Church in Chesterfield with Pastor Ken King officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Friday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Lake Street Baptist Church in Paul’s memory.
