Richard Allen Engle

Richard Allen Engle a devoted follower of Christ entered into the presence of the Lord on April 17th, 2025, with his family by his side. Richard was born to Mabel and Joseph Engle on May 9th, 1932, in his grandmother Sarah Hoppes Gustin’s’ home in Anderson, Indiana. He was blessed to share the home he was born in with his beloved wife Marita Engle and children Rick Engle, Lisa Engle Callahan and Sara Engle Edmondson.

Richard served in the Army and upon discharge began working at General Motors Delco Remy in Anderson. He retired after 43 years of service.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 73 years Marita Engle and his daughters Lisa Engle Callahan and Sara Engle Edmondson. Rejoicing in the promise of eternal life are his grandchildren, Melissa, Nathan, Richie, Justin, Heidi, Logan, and Lacy. Surviving are his two brothers, Jack Engle and Dwight (Bud) Engle; two sisters, Mary Jo McCarty and Judy Bailey.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents Mabel and Joseph Engle, son Rick Engle, sisters Vivien, Jean and Donna.

Services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
