Richard Allen Morin

Richard “Rick” Allen Morin, 71, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Community Hospital in Anderson, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 31, 1954, in Anderson, to Sabrina (Adams) Morin and the late Allen Morin.

A 1972 graduate of Highland High School. Rick was a homebuilder for most of his life, and always had projects, which often included fixing something for friends and family. He ran Rick’s Sharp Shop from his home outside of Middletown where he enjoyed visiting with his customers. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of the NRA. He found immense joy in fishing, camping and boating with his sons and grandkids. Their family made many cherished memories in God's creation. Gardening was another of Rick's pastimes and he shared his bountiful harvests with family, neighbors and the local food pantry.

Rick was strong in his faith and attended the First Baptist Church in Middletown.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of over 53 years, Patricia Morin; children, Anthony (Barbara) Morin and Brent Morin; grandchildren, Sierra (Wyatt) Brooks and Blake Morin; mother, Sabrina Morin; siblings, Jada (Steve) Conner, Rhonda (Michael) Lawson, Jeff (Sue) Morin, Joy (Michael) Norton, and Jennifer (Terry) Young; and several nieces and nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Allen Morin; sister, Julie Morin; and grandson, Brock Morin.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025 with the service following at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. There will be a dinner after the service at Middletown First Baptist church. Pastor Doug Stein will be officiating.

Instead of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Middletown Food Pantry at 985 Beechwood Ave in Middletown, or to Riley hospital at onlinegiving@rileykids.org.
