Robert “Bob” Edwin Stewart, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Majestic Care in Southport, Indiana. Born on January 12, 1940, in Blackford County, Indiana, Bob was the beloved son of the late Jonathan Plentipo and Alta Pauline (Miller) Stewart.
A 1961 graduate of Yorktown High School, Bob proudly enlisted in the United States Army following graduation. During his service, he honed the skill of welding, a craft he pursued throughout his life. Bob was later employed by RCA/Thompson Consumers Electronics, where he worked for 23 years before retiring.
Bob was a creative spirit and inventor, constantly designing and crafting unique items in the full-service machine shop he built at his home. He especially delighted in creating interactive play structures for children, which required physical effort and encouraged active fun. Bob frequently brought his creations to family reunions, setting them up in the backyard for everyone to enjoy.
A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Bob found joy in his faith, family, and constant tinkering.
