Rosalie Ann (Ringo) Corbin went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday, March 30, at 10:31 pm from her home in Kokomo, Indiana. One of her favorite verses was 1 Corinthians 10:31, “Whether therefore you eat or drink or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God.” This is the way that Rosalie lived her life, only growing stronger in her faith as each year passed. She leaves a legacy of service and sacrifice to the Lord and for the good of others.
Rosalie was born, November 26, 1931, to Dorothy Daugherty and John Barrett Ringo. She was their only daughter and the apple of her father’s eye. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1949. She married John Basil Corbin Jr., on August 22, 1950, and they had three children, Susan, Randy, and Stacey. Rosalie worked for her father in his Accounting and Tax practice in Middletown. Her quiet humor was best shared with her father where they would together laugh until they “wheezed.” Rosalie was an amazing cook, and loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and be with her children.
Rosalie began her spiritual life, at the age of 40, when she chose to follow Jesus as her Savior while hosting a Good News Bible club in Middletown, Indiana. That neighborhood held a special place as her home became a welcoming space for the neighborhood kids, especially for dear friend, Danielle (Sanabria) Wahl. Throughout her life Rosalie served in a variety of roles, both paid and non-paid, by serving the Lord through Grace Baptist Church of Anderson and Indiana Christian Academy.
Rosalie has a special relationship with each of her children and the ones they love. She is survived by her children; daughter, Susan Bodenhorn, and husband Rusty of Pendleton. Their children, Shelly (Tim) Stottlemyer, Guy (Wendy) Bodenhorn; son, Randy Corbin, and fiancée, Melissa Hudson-Lobb of New Palestine, and Randy’s daughter, Lyndsay Corbin; daughter, Stacey Tice and husband Jon of Kokomo, and their children, Abigail (John) Denoma, Elizabeth Tice, and her fiancée, Cortlandt Kalkstein. Great grandchildren, Emily (John) Tibbs, Erin Stottlemyer, Grace Stottlemyer, Kegan Burkhardt, Remington Bodenhorn, DeAsia Corbin, Rosalie Denoma, and great-great grandson, Jack Tibbs.
Rosalie is noted for her wisdom, grace, and loyal friendship. She loved all her church family, keeping them in prayer often. She spent time daily in God’s word, prayer, and loved to read Dr. J Vernon McGee commentaries on the Bible. She built lifelong friendships and with some she spoke weekly and sometimes daily for 60+ years. Her care for others and gentle love was felt by all who knew her.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Rosalie at 1pm on April 7, Good Friday, at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. Visitation with the family will be from 11 am – 1 pm. Leading the service will be Pastor Doug Stein and Pastor Jon Tice. A graveside service will immediately follow at Miller Cemetery in Middletown.
