Teresa L. Byrd

Teresa L. Byrd, 69, of Middletown passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. She was born on February 6, 1955 in Muncie to the late Mark and Shirley (Zile) Hanna.

In 1973 Teresa graduated from Shenandoah High School. Teresa worked for General Motors in Anderson, Indianapolis and Marion retiring in December of 2013 after 33 years. She enjoyed being outside working in the garden, where she had a green thumb for her flowers or out in her barn making bird houses. Teresa also enjoyed the fall, watching the leaves change and spending time in Brown County shopping for antiques and enjoying the outdoors. She was a do it yourselfer and wasn’t afraid to tackle any project around the house.

Teresa enjoyed life, spending time with family and her dog Gracie, but her biggest accomplishment was being an Amazing Mimi to her grandchildren. The time she spent with them meant the world to her and to them.

She is survived by her daughter, Jamie (Jason) Barker; grandchildren, Grady, Jack, Griffin and Jace Barker; sisters, Lisa (Denny) Redding and Le’Ann Holding; brothers, Mark “Bill” (Brenda) Hanna and Steve (Cindy) Holding; stepmother, Aloma Hanna; dear friends, Becky and Harvey; long time neighbors, Steve and Linda; along with many nieces and nephews.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of service. You may share a memory or leave a condolence for Teresa at www.ballardandsons.com .
