Tex G. Ooten, 65 of Middletown went home to be with the Lord on September 20, 2021. He was born on March 16, 1956 in Henry County to Mila Ooten and Hayden Eugene.
He married the love of his life on January 24, 1987, to Donna Ooten (Phillips) They were married for 34 years.
He was a faithful member of Northlight Baptist Church in Pendleton. Tex was also on the Henry County Search and Rescue along with the Cadiz Fire Department for many years. He worked at Shenandoah High School as a custodian for over 40 years.
Tex loved to fish and could spend hours doing so. He loved to go camping and on vacations with his family. Tex loved to go to Shipshewana and would go every year. He especially loved to spend time with his grandson, Layden.
Tex was a kind man who would help out anywhere and anyway he could.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Regina (Jimmy); grandson, Layden; brothers, Hayden (Kim) and Larry; sisters, Dorothy and Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by, his in-laws, and his youngest daughter.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2021 at Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 1p.m. at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown, 118 S. 5th St., Middletown, IN. Memorial contribution may be sent to the Northlight Baptist Church, 70 Village Drive, Pendleton, IN 46064 or the Middletown Fire Department, 653 Locust St., Middletown, IN 47356.
