Theresa Corrine Swain

Theresa Corrine Swain, 75, formerly of Middletown passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at her grandson’s home in Martinsville. She was born on January 24, 1951, in Newfoundland, Canada to the late William Thomas Daily and Mary Ellen (Jakeway) McGuffin.

She was a 1969 graduate of New Castle High School. She worked as a Correctional Officer along with establishing and running Kids Café an afterschool program at Westminster. Theresa enjoyed going camping and fishing along with coloring, sewing, crocheting and beading. She loved spending time with family and friends and catching up with all the happenings on Facebook.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherri Kathryn Swain Fisher (fiancée Branden Wooley) and Karen Denise Swain; grandchildren, Shaina Wilkinson, Kassi Swain, Kaylee Fisher, Jonathan Mayhugh and Cody (Heidi) Mayhugh; great grandchildren, Abbygail Marie Zuver, Kevin James Wilkinson, Kinsley Grace Swain, Waylen Joseph Swain, Dutten Taylor, Valentina Jocelyn Mayhugh and Roland Carter Mayhugh; brother, Rory (Candi) Daily; sister, Kathy Lynn Daily (Greg Coley); cousin, Janet Stupp; family friend, Roger Mayhugh.

In addition to her parents Theresa is preceded in death by her sons, Stephen Swain and Kevin Swain; stepfather, Andrew McGuffin; love of her life, Jay Pyles; and her beloved dog, Sazzie.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with a graveside service to follow at Miller Cemetery.
