Treva Paulette Kennedy, age 78, was reunited with her husband, Gary, on July 26, 2023, after a lengthy illness that she fought with all her might. Even in her darkest moments, she continued to laugh, smile, and win the hearts of those around her. We will remember her endless supply of energy and limitless sense of adventure. She was always willing to try something new like bungee jumping, water skiing, rollerblading and becoming a certified scuba diver.
Treva was a 1963 graduate of Middletown High School. She always looked forward to the golf outings, class reunions and, most of all, socializing with fellow Cossacks. Treva worked at Delco Remy from 1966 until 1999. While there, she worked in Plants 6, 15, 19 and 20. She enjoyed her job, but she loved being a mom to her boys, Chad and Lanny, even more. Treva was a good listener with a big heart, so she also became the “adopted mom” of many of their friends. Her most cherished job, however, was that of grandma. If you knew her, sometimes even if you didn’t know her, she would talk endlessly about their achievements and endeavors.
Besides her parents, Paul and Cletis (Lichliter) Holland, Treva was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; their daughter, Yvette; brother, Jerry; sister-in-law, Sharon Cookman; brother-in-law, David; niece, Michelle Cookman; and many others.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Chad (Cheryl Harvey) Kennedy and Lanny (Casendra) Kennedy; grandson, Kameron (Taylor) Kennedy and Treva’s great-grandson due in November; granddaughters, Allison (Cole) Baird and Shaylee Kennedy; brother-in-law, Mike Cookman; aunt, Bonnie (Kennedy) Harrell; nephews, Kevin (Noel) Cookman and Kyle Kennedy; niece, Lori Beth (Dave) Knox; and "special daughter," Tammy (Pressley) Kennedy.
A celebration of life will take place from 3:00 to 6:30 with service beginning at 6:30 on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. The family requests that you dress casually in colors that reflect Treva’s bright personality. Burial will take place at a later date in Miller Cemetery east of Middletown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Middletown EMS.
