Veronica Lynn Short

Veronica Lynn Short, 55, of Anderson passed away on Monday August 25, 2025, at Community Hospital in Anderson. She was born on July 18, 1970, in Anderson to Ronnie and Shirley (Gatton) Whittle.

She was a 1988 graduate of Madison Heights High School. Veronica was the secretary at the family business Short’s Machine Shop. She loved being outside, camping, boating and riding side by sides with the family. Veronica enjoyed cooking, playing Euchre and all her animals.

Veronica is survived by her husband, Dave Short; children, Robert Short and Abigail Short; mom, Shirley Whittle; and sister, June Schattner.

She is preceded in death by her dad, Ronnie Whittle.

Services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday September 2, 2025, at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Daleville. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
