William Patrick Davy, 76, of Yorktown, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 29, 2025. He was born March 17th, 1949, to the late Derwood and Anna (Delaney) Davy.
Born in Doylestown, PA, Bill grew up in Lambertville, New Jersey where he dated and married the girl next door. He earned an Associate's Degree in Transportation Management from Humbolt Institute and later moved his young family to Indiana to begin a new chapter. Bringing with him a heart full of hope and determination, he built a life rooted in faith, service, and friendship. Bill loved and served the Lord throughout his entire life and found purpose in being an active member of every church he joined. Whether leading youth groups, singing in the choir, serving as an Elder, or providing handicap transportation for those in need, he gave of himself wholeheartedly.
He wore many professional hats throughout his life but steadily remained in the transportation industry as a dispatcher and safety director. He loved tinkering with anything that had an engine, and you could often find him in the garage working on old Volkswagen's or fixing up lawn mowers. He took pride in keeping things running and not only shared this passion with friends and family but also used his talents to help others in need.
Bill had a lifelong love of learning and could often be found watching History Channel documentaries or classic John Wayne movies. He cherished time with his family and grandchildren, and found joy loving on his dogs, camping, and building birdhouses. He will be remembered by thousands in his cherished role as Saint Nicholas for over 20 years.
Friendship was a cornerstone of Bill’s life and he valued long-standing friendships. In addition, he opened his heart and home to anyone in need and many friends became family.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Sharon Davy; three children, Tracey and Joe Randolph, Matthew and Faith Davy, and Mark and Jenny Davy; grandchildren Austin Gott, Brandon Gott, Max Davy, Gianna Talbott, Gemma Davy, Sam Davy, Ben Davy, Caleb Davy, Emmeline Davy; and numerous nieces and nephews (including his goddaughter Kathy Lesko and godson, Chad Higgins). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne (Davy) Simmons; two granddaughters Grace Ann and Hope Davy, nephew Tim Lesko, and brother-in-law Patrick Wiley.
