Betty Jo and Norman married on December 24, 1949, and moved to Bloomington, Indiana, where Norman worked at WTTS Radio Station. They returned to Indiana prior to February 1951, opened Sanders TV Sales and Service, and resided in Middletown until 1998 when they moved to Florida.

When asked about Betty, Norman said, “She was quite a lady. She deserved a gold medal for putting up with me for sixty-plus years.”

They are survived by their five children (Deborah Brubaker, Elizabeth Stonebraker, Melissa Sanders, Stacy Lee, and Jeffrey Sanders), 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
